As Sent to the Houston Chronicle for release January 31, 2001

David "DH" Nordstrom was taken from this world Saturday in an automobile accident in Colorado while on his way home from a business trip. He had lived 43 short years, bringing laughter and joy to those who knew him, and leaving happy memories for his family and the many friends who loved him. David is survived by his best friend of 26 years, his wife Cristy, and their son Nicholas, 6. He was the youngest of five, and also leaves behind his brothers, Jon and Tommy Nordstrom, and sisters Sandra Laurentz, and Kris Nordstrom McBride. DH was a fixture in the Houston sports community for most of his life, as equipment manager for the original Houston Aeros, the Houston Rockets for 21 years, and various other local teams.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday Feb. 2nd, at Brookside Funeral Home located at 10355 Mills Road in Houston, followed immediately by a rosary concluding at 8:30 p.m. in the same location. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 3rd at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1922 Tomball Parkway in Houston. Burial will be at Shepherd Hill Cemetery in Willis, not far from his beloved lake house. The Irish toast "May you be in Heaven half an hour before the Devil knows you’re dead," is fitting for those of us who knew David F. Accordingly, an Irish Wake, to celebrate his life, and light the pathway, will follow at his sister’s home in Willis.

His son, Nicholas, was his buddy and the light of his life.
